Gardens | THE ANCHORAGE
As a guiding philosophy, Andrew Pfeiffer believes that gardens should be based on their natural surroundings and the local indigenous flora. When designing the landscape in 1983, Pfeiffer worked around the existing Aleppo pine trees, many of which still remain today. He planted a Mediterranean maquis and managed to create an ecological refuge for songbirds, mammals, plants and flowers.
The gardens which Pfeiffer created, were further developed by Lady Dashwood, and are now being overseen by Roderick Wordie together with the Anchorage team of expert gardeners, maintaining and enhancing the essential ambience of our unique Mediterranean village.
