THE VILLAGE

The Village | THE ANCHORAGE

On a rocky coastline overlooking the sea, the beauty of the Anchorage is largely due to the way the architectural design complements the landscape. Chosen as a high-society destination during Mallorca’s golden age, the Anchorage was conceived in the pale coloured façades of Mediterranean buildings: François Spoerry, celebrated French architect for the creation of Port Grimaud near Saint Tropez, was asked to join forces with the Australian landscape architect, Andrew Pfeiffer.

Together they designed an ambitious residential complex, to provide suitably refined accommodation and spectacular gardens for the international jet set and their families. The Anchorage was inaugurated on September 6th 1985 and today, over thirty five years later, the essential qualities of this growing garden and the respect for its original façades and colours, have stood the test of time, maintaining its village charm.
